How a Torah Scroll is written

Our Torah Restoration Project kicks off on Sunday, May 19, 4:30 - 6:00 pm.

Join us for as we formally present our Torah to Rabbi Simon Benzaquen, a local sofer (scribe) who will be repairing it over the next year. Rabbi Benzaquen will do a special presentation, geared to older children and adults, on how a Torah scroll is written. The presentation will be followed by a wine and cheese reception. This will formally kick off an exciting year-long program called "Etz Chayyim Hee"--"It is a Tree of Life."

There will be many opportunities to learn as well as to participate in the actual writing of the Scroll. Please put Sunday, June 23rd on your calendar, for the first of several opportunities to participate in the writing.  More information will be coming about how you can contribute to this project, and help support our community in the process!
